Google Internet Search by Image instead of by Text/Description

If you’ve ever wondered how to do an internet search – based on an image instead of on text – for more information…here’s one way:

1. Right-click the original image or as close to the original image as you can get from the news article.

2. Right-click the image and select the option to save the image to your Desktop or to a custom location on your hard drive. Be sure and leave the filename intact (in other words, don’t try and rename the filename of the image).

3. Visit Google.com

4. In the black navigation bar across the top, click “Images”. You’ll be taken to Google Images.

5. In the search field, click the little camera icon. If you hover your mouse pointer over it, it’ll explain that you can search by the image instead of by text.

6. Click “Upload Image”. In the pop up that appears, click “Choose File” so you can browse your hard drive.

7. Select the image from your hard drive once you’ve found where you saved it to, click “Choose”.

8. The image will upload and the results screen will appear.

9. Peruse the search results in the hopes of finding the artist of the piece of art.

Good luck!
