President Obama signaled in our interview that he was prepared to address some of the concerns raised by key Senator Jay Rockefeller, who called the Baucus bill a “big middle class tax increase” this week. That means he’ll support more subsidies for middle class families….

How I Took Down Twitter Single-Handedly

How I took down Twitter single-handedly:

I tweeted.

The End.

Was seemingly down about 1/2 hr to an hour this morning.  I’m using MacOS X Lion and Apple Safari web browser.  What was curious is I could access every site, including Facebook and Apple and Google, just not Twitter.  My browser would “clock” endlessly whenever trying to load

Wyman Got Run Over by a….Deer.

June 21, 2012 Leave a comment

Ha!  Fooled you!  Wishful thinking, I know.

You may recognize the title as a play on words of the song “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer”.

I was on my way to meet up with a friend for an informal business meeting, when I out of the blue, I heard a rustle of leaves, and out dashed a deer, of all things.  It came out of from my left, out some neighbor’s yard, cut across the street without using its turn signals, and casually pranced ahead of me.

By this time, I’m thinking “Oh boy! I’ve gotta capture this moment”, all the while fumbling around trying to whip out the digital camera.  See a pattern here?  Even at a casual prance that deer was out of sight in like two shakes of his furry little tail.  Maybe equivalent to thirty seconds.  I almost chased after it, but was trying to buy time to pull out my camera…thinking that if I broke out into a jog or run it would dart off.  Either way I lost its scent.  I looked around, and by now we were in an open area that leads to a creek.  I’d lost the deer.

Ah well, foiled once again by mother nature.  More specifically a deer.

I told this story to my companion I met up with later and she told me her story of how she once saw 6-7 deer walking across a parking lot, single file.  Part of you wants to say aloud, “OMG! LOOK AT THAT!”, but another part insists you remain quiet so as not to startle the animals.

It’s moments like these that help you pause the hustle and bustle of life to “stop and smell the roses”.

Chuck Norris Column: Can Obama Be Re-elected on Broken Promises?

Do you remember when President George H.W. Bush made the promise not to raise taxes (“Read my lips: No new taxes”) but unfortunately was talked into raising taxes and it cost him in his bid for a second term?

If President Bush No. 41 could lose a re-election by breaking one promise, how can President Barack Obama win a second term when he has broken a truckload of promises?

Consider only his multiple campaign promises to raise taxes. A few years ago, The Washington Examiner gave a selective list of more than a dozen instances when Obama promised to roll back President George W. Bush’s tax cuts from Americans. During the Bush No. 43 era, such rampant repeat offenses and taxation lies would have led to his ousting from the Oval Office. But for Obama?

Yet that sampling of broken fiscal pledges is only the tip of the iceberg of our current president’s contemptible record.

Let me remind you of several other core-busted promises by Obama — shattered vows right from the horse’s presidential mouth, according to National Review and other watchdog and news agencies:

—”The first thing I’d do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. That’s the first thing that I’d do.” (Spoken on the campaign trail in 2008.)

—”Today I’m pledging to cut the deficit we inherited in half by the end of my first term in office.” (Spoken at the opening of the fiscal responsibility summit, Feb. 23, 2009.)

—”We will launch a sweeping effort to root out waste, inefficiency and unnecessary spending in our government, and every American will be able to see how and where we spend taxpayer dollars by going to a new website called” (Spoken in a speech Jan. 28, 2009.)

—”There is no doubt that we’ve been living beyond our means, and we’re going to have to make some adjustments. Now, what I’ve done throughout this campaign is to propose a net spending cut.” (Spoken during a presidential debate Oct. 15, 2008.)

—”We are going to ban all earmarks.” (Spoken at a news conference Jan. 6, 2009.)

—”Instead of allowing lobbyists to slip big corporate tax breaks into bills during the dead of night, we will make sure every single tax break and earmark is available to every American online.” (Spoken on the campaign trail in June 2007.)

—”Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase — not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.” (Spoken in September 2008 at a town hall meeting in Dover, N.H.)

—”(I) will eliminate all income taxation of seniors making less than $50,000 per year. This will eliminate taxes for 7 million seniors — saving them an average of $1,400 a year — and will also mean that 27 million seniors will not need to file an income tax return at all.” (From Barack Obama presidential campaign fact sheet in 2008.)

—”(My plan) will not help speculators who took risky bets on a rising market and bought homes not to live in but to sell.” (Spoken to an audience in Phoenix on Feb. 18, 2009.)

—”(Lobbyists) won’t work in my White House.” (Spoken on his Iowa bus tour Dec. 15, 2007.)

—”We’ve got a philosophical difference, which we’ve debated repeatedly, and that is that Sen. (Hillary) Clinton believes the only way to achieve universal health care is to force everybody to purchase it.” (Spoken during the Democratic presidential debate Feb. 21, 2008.)

—”These negotiations will be on C-SPAN, and so the public will be part of the conversation and will see the decisions that are being made.” (Spoken Jan. 20, 2008.)

—”The detention facilities at Guantanamo for individuals covered by this order shall be closed as soon as practicable … no later than 1 year from the date of this order.” (Presidential executive order Jan. 22, 2009.)

—”Barack Obama and Joe Biden believe the United States has to be frank with the Chinese about such failings and will press them to respect human rights.” (On a fact sheet distributed by the Obama campaign during the 2008 campaign.)

—”We need tougher border security and a renewed focus on busting up gangs and traffickers crossing our border. … That begins at home, with comprehensive immigration reform. That means securing our border and passing tough employer enforcement laws.” (Spoken in Miami on May 23, 2008.)

—”I will make sure that we renegotiate (NAFTA).” (Spoken on Feb. 23, 2008.)

And as long as we’re discussing lies and broken promises, let’s not forget that this is the president who promised during his campaign to “clean up both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue.” He repeatedly pledged that his administration would have the toughest ethics laws of any administration in history. Shouldn’t having the toughest ethics laws mean that there are no lies or broken promises coming from the administration?

And President Obama has the audacity to put out a campaign video against Mitt Romney’s record of “broken promises” as governor of Massachusetts?

In the more than 500 promises Obama made during his campaign and presidency, even the Obameter from PolitiFact — which tends to be pro-Obama — has this as his scorecard: 185 promises kept, 61 compromised, 71 broken, 61 stalled, 128 in the works and two not yet rated. What that coddled language boils down to is this: Even according to the political left, Obama has fulfilled 185 promises and left 323 pledges dangling farther than participles!

In 2010, feeling a bit defensive and maybe insecure, Obama fired back in anger to those who were accusing him of selling out by breaking so many of his campaign promises. Wielding his verbose verbal sword, the president retorted: “Take a tally. Look at what I promised during the campaign. There’s not a single thing that I’ve said that I would do that I have not either done or tried to do. And if I haven’t gotten it done yet, I’m still trying to do it.”

“Not a single thing”?

That’s another broken promise.

Numbers on Illegals in L.A. County (repost from the LA Times Newspaper)

June 21, 2012 Leave a comment

Just One State , this is only one State……………what an eye opener!

From the Los Angeles Times Newspaper

1. 40% of all workers in Los Angeles County ( Los Angeles County has 10.2 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal aliens working without a green card.

2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

3. 75% of people on the most-wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are illegal aliens from south of the border.

8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

9. 21 radio stations in Los Angeles are Spanish speaking.

10. In Los Angeles County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish. (There are 10.2 million people in Los Angeles County .)

(All 10 of the above statements are from the Los Angeles Times)

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare. Over 70% of the United States ‘ annual population growth (and over 90% of California , Florida , and New York ) results from immigration.29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.

We are a bunch of fools for letting this continue!

Why does Obama still stand a chance of getting re-elected?

Why does Obama still stand a chance of getting re-elected?

He’s got the Mass Media on his side, drooling over him, pushing for a win.

The uninformed, ignorant people, celebs included, who have some fantasy notion that Obama getting another 4 years is actually a good idea.

Recent amnesty of a boatload of illegals so he has a fresh batch of new “voters”…it just goes on and on…

He can’t win on the economy that’s for sure, but perhaps his legacy will be to increase Illegal Immigration and increase the Deficit more than any President in history.

Happy Fathers Day to all the Daddy-Os!

June 17, 2012 Leave a comment

Wishing you a happy Fathers Day weekend!  Fathers REPRESENT!

I’m always big on giving props to Fathers because I think they’re often the unsung heroes.  Sure, Moms are awesome and a necessity but Dads are necessary too!

I think so often you hear in the media about deadbeat dads and how men culturally are becoming effeminate.  It’s true to some extent.  Well that’s in part because of how today’s culture treats men.  They don’t want men to act like men anymore.  But what good is that?!  The result of that kind of “programming” is you end up with everybody acting like women.  That leads to women getting ticked off because they can no longer find a good man any more…a real man.  Society/culture seems to want to make us all touchy-feely.  Being in touch with one’s emotions is one thing, but it doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your manhood in the process.  Those who still fix things around the house with tools, those who still work on restoring their cars, the men who can BBQ a Brontosaurus steak and fix any of their kids boo boos, those are the Fathers/Dads that I speak of.

How are we celebrating?

Saturday:  Swimming at a local gem, Cull Canyon, and for snacks have fruit and veggies (grapes, sliced apples, carrot sticks) as well as wheat thins. Plenty of water for beverages.  Relaxing the rest of the day.  Maybe a nap.

Sunday:  Watch the movie, Men In Black 3, eat Pizza from Pizza Express for Dinner, and have Dutch Apple Crunch Pie for dessert with ice cream.  Open card and gifts.  Since my stepdad dad doesn’t read blogs or do social networking like Facebook or Twitter, it’s safe for me to share with y’all what I got him.  For the ‘prank gift’ got a couple Hot Wheels cars.  A can of whole bean 100% Kona Coffee.  And this nifty base for his iPad 2 that has a joystick and buttons so after connecting the iPad 2 to it, he can play old-school Atari gaming classics like Centipede and Galaga!

So here’s to you, all you manly-men Fathers/Dads!  Happy Fathers Day!

And mad props to my biological Dad, up above.
